Overnight Security / Emergency: This Position is now full

.

A Non Profit Independent Senior Residents home requires an overnight ON Call emergency/security support 6:30 pm to 8 am. Live on site

This is a live-in position, must relocate to building with 15 bed sit units
Respond to Residents security / emergency or concerns in night

  1. Respond to phone calls / entrance etc.
  2. Prepare self-service breakfast and table set up. Once or twice hot breakfast per week.
  3. Be aware of utilities, generator, water service, fire drills
  4. Cleaning in common spaces as scheduled
  5. Always friendly and social to residents, staff, volunteers, and guests
  6. Put out Snacks in the evening for residents

Requires up to date:

  • CPR certificate
  • Food and Handling certificate
  • Pass Vulnerable Sector Police Check

Covid-19 public health requirements may change from time to time.  PPE equipment will be provided by

Abbeyfield Durham as required and expect staff to follow requirements at all time.

Cook and House Worker Description

This position involves meal planning, shopping, and preparation for the residents of the House. Abbeyfield provides lunch and dinner to residents, with continental-style breakfast, and beverages and snacks available throughout the day. While working independently during the day there is a team of experienced people on the schedule and working together to share information and support is essential.

Aiming to maximize and improve the quality of life of every resident, you will ensure that everyone feels settled, supported, and involved in all our activities. Reporting to the Kitchen Manager, you will coordinate all aspects of resident meals.

Requires up to date

Having an understanding of nutrition and safe food handling is integral for this job.
Food and Handling Certificate
CPR/First Aid
Vulnerable Sector Police Check

A daily schedule generally includes 11 hours.
