Get to Know Abbeyfield
Abbeyfield Houses across the world provide shared accommodations and provide good food, comfort, security, and companionship to independent seniors who, though relatively fit, no longer wish to or are unable to live at home. It could be compared to living like a large family.
Abbeyfield Houses Society of Durham is a non-profit charitable organization that opened in late December 2002. The house is managed by a board of directors who are from the local community. You would have the privacy, dignity, and freedom needed to continue a normal life, but you would also be in a more secure environment, with the companionship of others. Abbeyfield Durham includes 15 units with full ensuite washrooms, self-controlled A/C, and heating
